In order to capture a couple's true essence, there has to be a foundation of friendship and trust.
This is one of my primary values as an artist.

So, let's get started! I want to get know you! Don't be shy. How'd you meet? What keeps you busy during the week? What TV shows do you obsess over? Do you like fruit in your yogurt? ;) And most importantly: what kind of a wedding are you dreaming about?

It’s so much more fun to be photographed when we all like each other so much that we are hanging out.

LET'S GET REAL

and then the photos just happen.

We felt an instant connection with her

Sara was wonderful to work with from our first Skype meeting to the final delivery of our album. I would get an occasional email from Sara with tips, fun quizzes, suggestions, and inspiration that I really enjoyed. She really cares about her clients.

Best of all, on my wedding day she was amazing. At one point while getting ready, I found myself alone. I was in a bit of a panic and didn't know what to do next. Sara calmed me down and helped talk me through what would happen next. She even helped me with my last little bit of getting ready. I thought that was above and beyond for a photographer. I had some "high maintenance" entities at my wedding, but Sara made the day easier. -Haley and Kyle

sara went above and beyond our expectations

Booking Sara as our photographer was the best choice we made for our wedding!!! We eloped (just the two of us!) to San Francisco from Vancouver, Canada, so photos that captured all of the romance and essence of the day were of utmost importance.

We took photos at night by the Ferry Building, but the photos make it look like it was dusk (even daylight!). I have no idea how she did that! She literally RAN around with us to get the perfect shots and as many as we could in our last 30 minutes. I can't express how incredibly amazing she is. We couldn't be happier with our pictures. She's the kind of person we'd love to take out to dinner and get to know more. -Michelle & Joel

"she made us feel comfortable and confident"

From our first conversation with Sara, we knew we wanted her to document our special day. The time she took to get to know us as a couple and to understand our vision for our big day, made us feel comfortable and confident. On the day of, Sara showed up EARLY and was so fun and enjoyable to work with. She was also a good reminder to the bridal party of what the bride should be doing (or rather shouldn't be doing) in her dress and shoes. Sara and her team were attentive, fun, and made us feel comfortable in front of the camera. I would choose them time and time again and recommend them to my closest friends. -Stephanie and Matt

While I live in the East Bay of Northern California, I’m barely home! I am working in LA each month, and traveling up and down the coast -- and beyond -- constantly. My favorite place to travel to is hands-down: Big Sur. I want to live there forever!

My style is a fusion between Photojournalism and Impressionism. Photojournalism is telling a story through imagery. In its purest form, it is news-stories. By capturing candid emotion and and the unique setting you are in, you can re-live a period of time through the pictorial sequence. Impressionism is focused on the interchange between light and movement - I love the romance of this era. I consider myself a Neo-Impressionist: inspired by Monet and Renoir. With my Editorial/Newspaper background, I capture live-action candids with a documentary style. This fusion is wildly creative.

What is your shooting style?

Most of my clients are not naturally comfortable posing or being in front of the camera and they always finish the shoot remarking, “Wow, that was so easy! And SO fun.” I’ll be guiding you when you need guidance, but most of the time we’ll be hanging out and you won’t even notice me shooting after a while. In the past 15 years I’ve worked with hundreds of couples and have all of the tips and tricks to help you relax and feel natural. Just come ready to love on your sweetie and have some good laughs with me!

We are awkward in front of the camera, is that ok?
