In Audrey’s own words, “We got married on July 26, 2014 at Ahmanson Ranch, which is a stunningly beautiful property in the Santa Monica Mountains of Calabasas. The house on the property was built in the 1930’s, and the serenity of the ranch quickly sold us as we were searching for the perfect venue. Most of our guests were from out of town, so we really wanted to treat them to a beautiful spot that was unique to LA. Historic scenes from Gone with the Wind and many other movies were filmed on the ranch, which made it the perfect spot for guests to enjoy some of LA’s most iconic landscapes.”

“I didn’t share my dress with anyone other than my mom and Matt’s mom prior to the wedding. Once we found it, we all knew right away that it was perfect for me. Given that it was non-traditional (champagne fabric covered in sequins), I really didn’t want to invite other opinions.”
She asked each of her bridesmaids to guess what her dress looked like, and each had a different idea! (Some knew her VERY well to guess so closely!)
“I did a first look with my bridesmaids before we went to the venue, and it was so much fun to see the look on their faces when I came into the room!”
“My cousin (Kristen Ley) is an extremely talented artist who has her own shop, Thimblepress. We worked closely with her on all of the design elements, including the invitations, monogram, menus, programs, napkins, koozies, stir sticks, coffee cups, and confetti poppers. She hand designed most of the elements herself, and we worked with her throughout the process to incorporate our favorite colors, textures, quotes, etc.”
Being from Texas, we love how Audrey incorporated some serious Southern charm throughout the day, including quotes from her and Matt’s favorite country songs, chicken and waffle appetizers (Y.U.M.), a romantic first dance to George Strait’s “I Cross My Heart” and the groom’s classic white cowboy hat.
“I will also never forget dancing with my dad to ‘My Girl.’ He had me laughing the entire time, and we really just had the best time smiling and spinning around together for a few minutes.”
“We designed most of the wedding around the big surprise which was an 80’s cover band that performed at the end of the evening. Given that we were both born in the 80’s, we incorporated 80’s elements throughout the celebration leading up to the band’s reveal at the end of the night. It was a fun way to honor our favorite decade and end the evening on a really high note!”
